Doodleco Motorsport would like to wish everyone a very happy new year. In 2012, we made a start in the world of online racing and have so far made some great friends in the TORA community. After one of our driver's took part in the Britcar 24hrs back in September, the team has officially become part of the Clean Racers Association (CRA).
It is with great pleasure that Doodleco Motorsport will continue running alongside CRA over the course of 2013, hopefully strengthening ties for other events later on.
The team has been working hard over the Christmas break to look at options for 2013 and we believe that our goals are big, but realistic.
Firstly, Doodleco Motorsports will be making a full championship entry to the TORA Endurance Championship. So far, a car for the 12hrs of Sebring and the Le Mans 24hrs has been chosen. For these two rounds the team will be driving an Acura ARX02-A, using a three driver line-up. So far other rounds are to be confirmed but there are considerations for a Ford GT, Jaguar XKR or a Mazda MX5. These are options for the Britcar 24hrs at Silverstone and the Nurburgring.
Unfortunately, these races will be subject to the replacement of some technical equipment which has failed over the holiday. Due to lack of funding, this is a major issue that we are currently unable to resolve.
Our second announcement is the plan to enter the GTR 24hr race in Denmark. This race will place using a LAN connection around Circuit de la Sarthe in October. The car of choice will be a Lola B12/80. Initial testing has shown that there is potential for a top 5 finish in the prototype class. This event will be the highlight of the year and we hope to obtain some sponsorship deal which are to be announced at a later date. In the meantime, the team is planning on taking three drivers to Denmark and a further two or three engineers to assist and provide radio during the race.
